Every week properties that are available for rent or to purchase through shared ownership are advertised. See below for more details. they are advertised in the following ways:
The adverts give you details of the landlord, location, size, rent and other features of the property to help you decide which property is right for you. Where available a photograph of the property or a similar house type is provided and you can get information about the local area and facilities.
The advert also tells you if there are any special requirements the home seeker must meet, such as age or local connection. Sometimes the advert will give a preference to, for example, families with children. In this case you can still apply for the property providing it is suitable for your household but any families bidding will be considered first.
We use symbols on the adverts to tell you more about the property. These cover things such as:
You can hover the cursor over the symbol to get an explanation of what they mean.
To apply for a property you must tell us that you want to be considered for it. You can apply for up to 2 properties in each advert cycle.
You will only be able to apply for a property that matches your bedroom needs. For information on the maximum number of bedrooms that you are entitled please click on eligibility table. You will be prevented from bidding for a property larger than your maximum bedroom need.
If you have any large pets, you will still be able to bid where there is a No Pets rule but you will only get a firm offer if you agree to re-home your animals.
Available properties are advertised from 00.01am on a Thursday to 23.59pm the following Tuesday on a weekly basis. You will be able to bid for a maximum of 2 properties per advert cycle. You can place your bids at any time during the week. The adverts all show the deadline for bids to be received. Please note: late bids cannot be accepted.
When you bid you will be told your position in the queue at that time. Please remember your position can change if someone else places a bid after yours. If you are not near the top of the list, you cancel your bid and put it on another property where you are nearer the top.
